Its compound remains pliable in sub-zero temperatures, maintaining traction where all-season tires fall short. Steering response is precise for a winter tire, and ride comfort is well-balanced — absorbing road irregularities without sacrificing the feedback drivers need in demanding cold-weather conditions.

The iceGUARD IG51 features an advanced silica-enriched compound designed to stay flexible in freezing temperatures, reducing braking distances on ice and packed snow. Its asymmetric tread pattern incorporates multi-angle sipes and wide lateral grooves that efficiently evacuate slush and water, minimizing hydroplaning risk during winter thaws. The tread design also balances wear characteristics to extend service life across a full winter season.

Performance Profile

Season Coverage: Winter

About Yokohama Tires

Yokohama was established in 1917 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
