It targets drivers who want dependable year-round capability — dry traction, wet grip, and light-snow competence — without a premium price tag. Ride comfort and composed handling on larger vehicles are its defining strengths, making it a practical everyday choice for commuters and family haulers alike.

A symmetrical tread pattern works alongside an all-season rubber compound to deliver consistent grip across changing conditions. Multiple sipes biting across the tread blocks improve contact on wet pavement and light snow, while wide circumferential and lateral grooves channel water away from the contact patch. A noise-minimizing construction with variable pitch sequencing keeps the cabin quiet on highway runs.

Key Features

Symmetrical tread pattern delivers consistent all-season performance

Multiple sipes across tread blocks improve wet and light-snow grip

Wide circumferential grooves channel water for enhanced wet traction

All-season compound maintains reliable grip in varying temperatures

Noise-minimizing construction with variable pitch for a quieter ride

Wider footprint supports stable highway handling on SUVs and CUVs

Available in 33 sizes covering 15- to 20-inch rim diameters

Performance Profile

Season Coverage: All-Season Highway

Projected Longevity: UTQG treadwear 620

Traction Grade: A (UTQG wet traction)

Temperature Grade: A (UTQG heat resistance)

About APlus Tires

APlus is a tire brand produced by Shandong Haohua Tire Co., Ltd., one of China's leading tire manufacturers. Built over roughly two decades with a focus on the global value segment, APlus targets passenger cars, 4x4 vehicles, and light trucks. The brand draws on manufacturing expertise sourced from Japan, Germany, and the Netherlands, and backs its products with a range of international safety certifications.

The APlus lineup spans more than 600 sizes, giving drivers broad fitment coverage across its product range. Notable offerings include the A919, an all-season passenger tire, and the A929, an all-terrain option that carries full winter approval. Together, these models reflect the brand's goal of providing dependable performance and recognized safety standards for budget-minded consumers worldwide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does 235/70R16106H mean?

235 is the tread width in millimeters, 70 means the sidewall is 70% of that width, and R16 is the 16-inch rim it mounts on. 106 is the load index (2,094 lbs per tire), and H is the speed rating (up to 130 mph).

Is the APlus Performax SUV/CUV a good value tire?

For drivers prioritizing cost-effective, year-round capability, it holds up well. It handles dry and wet conditions competently and manages light snow adequately, making it a reasonable choice for everyday SUV and CUV use. Shoppers expecting premium-brand refinement should set expectations accordingly, but for the price point it delivers solid fundamentals.

How does the Performax SUV/CUV perform in rain?

The tire is designed with wide circumferential and lateral grooves that evacuate water from beneath the contact patch, reducing the risk of hydroplaning. Combined with an all-season compound, it provides confident wet-road traction for typical rainy-day driving. As with any all-season tire, extreme downpours at high speed call for reduced speeds and extra following distance.

Can I use the Performax SUV/CUV in winter conditions?

This tire handles light snow reasonably well thanks to its sipe-dense tread and all-season compound. However, it is not Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake certified, so it is not rated for severe winter service. When temperatures consistently drop below roughly 45°F or roads see heavy snow and ice, a dedicated winter tire will provide meaningfully better safety margins.

Who manufactures APlus tires, and where are they made?

APlus tires are produced by Shandong Haohua Tire Co., Ltd., based in China. Manufacturing takes place primarily in China and Vietnam, though production locations can vary by size and production run.

Is the Performax SUV/CUV a quiet tire for highway driving?

APlus engineered the Performax SUV/CUV with a noise-reducing internal structure and a variable tread pitch layout, both aimed at keeping road noise in check at highway speeds. Most drivers report a comfortable, relatively quiet ride for a value-segment tire, though it may not match the cabin refinement of premium touring options.

Do I get the full manufacturer warranty buying from TFS Wheels?

Yes.
